MANUEL QUIROS
I am a biologist with a Master’s in Aquaculture and a PhD in Ichthyology with ten years of research experience (postdoc) and in teaching in Higher Education and project management. For more than 20 years, I have created new subjects always linked to Sustainability and regeneration, opening new lines of research. I have published numerous scientific and popular articles that you can access on the web. Always with Nature at the centre of decision-making.
For almost a decade, I have been teaching classes at the Instituto de Empresa University in 4 of the 5 Schools, and also direct the Sustainability Lab to explore sustainable and regenerative scenarios with actual companies in several industries and institutions. I am also a teacher in similar subjects at ESIC University in the Business School, the University of Navarra, and the prestigious UNESCO Chair at the University of the Basque Country.
Every year, I give seminars, workshops and conferences at many other institutions where I am invited. I write scientific and informative publications (see below), pollinating the need and opportunity to advance the culture of regeneration.
I am also co-founder of the pioneer Biomimicry Iberia, of the 3i Biomimesis Network that operates mainly in the Amazon, and I have also founded Planeta Biomimetico Spain with which I travel with postgraduate students to the heart of the Colombian Amazon to work with indigenous communities (PBE).
I have worked with political leaders in the now defunct Climate Consensus Forum, where a prominent group of academics, former ministers, public policymakers, professors and researchers tried to unify action to mitigate climate change and biodiversity loss (See plus 1 and 2).
Since 2013, I have been a Contributing Editor of the award-winning ZQJ publication specializing in biomimicry and based in Calgary, Canada.
The Business Institute has published an unconventional profile about me (1-minute read).
